Brookline Renovation

Below is a first glimpse BLOOM's new design for a renovation to an Arts and Crafts home in Brookline, Massachusetts. Fronting on a public park, the house was formerly a two-family home, and was converted to single family in the past, but was not significantly renovated at that time.

The current design seeks to make an improved entry sequence, create open spaces between formerly closed- off levels, and to transform the main living and entertaining rooms into a flowing, open plan configuration. Structural beams are employed to remove most of the main level's walls, creating the opportunity for larger social spaces, and through-house views. A modern kitchen will look over a series of reconfigurable dining and living spaces, and a central stair will be exposed and rebuilt to create a 3-story focal point.

On the top level we are creating a master suite with cathedral ceilings, and renovating the bedrooms and bathrooms. Throughout a contemporary interior layout and finish palette will compliment the Arts and Crafts shell.
