New Promotion: Congratulations Cody!

Congratulations to Cody Pratt, for his promotion to Lead Designer / Project Manager.

Cody has been indispensable to BLOOM’s growth as a firm for over 8 years. He has played a central role in most of our recent projects, bringing his rigorous approach to design to each one. Cody has also served as a mentor to junior team members and directed teams on complex design problems. We look forward to his continued growth and success!

We asked Cody a few questions about his experience as a designer. Check out the Q+A below:

  • Describe your design style as an architectural designer.

Cody: I don’t know that I have a particular style that I impose on a project, but I do tend to prefer modern and contemporary styles that contrast with existing spaces and contexts.

  • What's your favorite part about being a designer?

Cody: The process is the most enjoyable part of the project for me. Thinking through the design and iterating different ideas to find a solution.

  • Describe your favorite type of design projects to work on.

Cody: Renovations and interventions on existing spaces are my favorite kinds of projects. It’s fun to rethink an existing building or space and figure out how it can be used for new or evolving uses.

  • What is your biggest inspiration for becoming a designer?

Cody: Taking hand drafting classes in middle school is what got me into architecture/design and learning how to represent complex ideas and communicate through drawings.
