St Botolph

Boston, MA

A full renovation to a residence on a historic tree-lined street in our South End neighborhood. BLOOM opened up the walls to create interconnected light-filled living spaces, accentuated by high gloss ceilings, and a subtle color palette. The spaces were designed to offer flexibility of use, with a front room serving as a guest room or study, an oversized kitchen island large enough to seat six, and a rear bedroom with built-ins allowing office use. A new black iron balcony was added to the rear facade, creating a perch to take in the distant city views. In the open kitchen, we balanced muted tones with brass highlights, and planar elements of natural stone. A paneled accent wall conceals additional storage cabinets on invisible hinges, and a hidden walk-in pantry provides a place for storage and small appliances, completing the quiet, efficient space.
