Guilford VT House

September 15, 2018

We have begun work on a renovation with an addition to a farmhouse in Guilford VT. Former home to the legendary pianist Rudolph Serkin, the rolling 100 acre  property enjoys magnificent view across a rural valley,  a music barn, and several other outbuildings adjacent to the home. BLOOM is charged with updating the home, and creating an addition that will capture the grandeur of the natural surroundings, and improve the connection of the interior to the landscape. The faceted form of the addition reacts to the landscape and views, and has a sweeping wing-shaped ceiling that responds to the house's lofty perch on the peak of a hill. Below is a preliminary rendering of the initial concept.
