Forest City Residential asked Bloom Architecture to consolidate their management and leasing operations at their MIT University Park campus. Conference space, a waiting lounge, offices, and support spaces were to occupy a relatively small space, in a visually open configuration, allowing the departments to have lines of sight to each other. The resulting space would need to be very spatially efficient, in order to fit the combined staff, while remaining open and bright. Our approach was to create a series of unique cherry and glass spatial dividers, which simultaneously serve as storage and display, keeping each function separate yet connected. Bright accent colors and contemporary furnishings accent the space, and the color palette of the interior decor and custom mural visually connect the workspace with the adjacent urban park just outside the windows.
